How do I find out if a company has the license to do business in my state?

You can check with the Maryland Department of Assessment and Taxation to see if they are registered. Certain companies are not required to be listed and, without informatin, I cannot discern if the company in which you are interested is one of them. Also the company may be registered in another state but may be required to registed with Maryland again this depends on the type of business.
