can a creditor contact your realative, asking them to haver you contact them?

How did the creditor get your relative's name? On some credit applications there are sections for contact people. If you put that relative's name on the application, the company can contact the relative to ask for your location. However, based on your question, the creditor didn't disclose the details of the debt to your relative. So, based upon the information provided, and assuming you provided your relative's information, the creditor didn't violate any collection laws.
