Legal Question in Business Law in Maryland
we have an employee out on workers comp/ disability and has been for 7 weeks. we continue to pay his health benefits and when called or emailed he doesnt respond. are we still obligated to pay health insurance? Shouldn't the employee keep in contact with us?

You have no obligation to keep this employee's job open if your legitimate business needs require you to fill the position. If he wants to return to his job upon recovery, it's certainly foolish for him to ignore your contact attempts. As for his health coverage if you plan to keep his job open, you should consult with your insurance agent about their requirements under a group plan.
