Legal Question in Business Law in Maryland
Licensing
I am an instructor teaching entrepreneurship. I have a student that is interested in providing catering services to funeral homes for families during their repass. She wants to protect the process and prevent other caterers from taking the idea and going to other funeral homes. Is this a process that she can protect or license? If so, what is the process? And who in Maryland could represent her?
Thank you in advance.

Re: Licensing
There is no protectable process here. However, her business idea can be protected. She can obtain trademark or trade name protection. She should also have well drafted client contracts and consult with an attorney as to the form of the business organization.
