Legal Question in Business Law in Maryland
LLC and liability
I am currently using my husband's office space for counseling. I am not ''officially'' listed as a renter. If someone falls down the stairs in the building- am I personally liable if the landlord didn't know that I was using the space? Also, would an LLC help the situation?

Re: LLC and liability
If you are not technically the tenant, I don't think you'd be liable. Of course, your husband hopefully has liability insurance, which is probably required by the lease.
An LLC limits your exposure to assets owned by the LLC, so it would be a good way of protecting yourself in general.
