Mandatory overtime for salaried employees

Can an employer force a salaried employee to work forced overtime outside of their job description?

Force? No. Slavery was abolished 136 years ago. The employer can tell you to do the work, and your choice is to do it or quit, or refuse and see if the employer does fire you (which it is free to do). This all assumes that there is no contract or collective bargaining agreement to the contrary, and that you are properly exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act. It may also not apply to certain government employees.
