Legal Question in Business Law in Maryland
I paid "lifetime" membership dues and only remained a member of the org for 2.5 years. Are they legally responsible to pro-rate and return the bulk of my dues.

Probably not, but you should be able to get an answer to your question by reading the contract materials. They offer lifetime memberships on a deeply discounted basis as a way of getting up front funds, and if they had to refund money because you lost interest it wouldn't be feasible for them to do this.
