Legal Question in Business Law in Maryland
patent
as an artist, i have been using a certain chemical product to create unique, one-of-a-kind images. The images have sold in art galleries. I have also sold them at art festivals and in my own gallery. The chemical product is no
longer manufactured. The company
will not divulge the formulary for
me to produce limited quantities
of the product for my own use. I
am not interested in retailing the
product. I simply want to use it
to continue creatiing my unique images. I feel that I am being
denied the right to produce my art,
and therefore create potential income
from my art. Is there any way this
company can be forced to divulge
their formulary for the product I
need?

Re: patent
No, it's entitled to trade secret protection. They might want to resume making it or to sell the formulary to someone who does.
