Can physicians charge no show fees without reminder notices?

If the physician and you made an appointment, he reserved that time for you. If you don't cancel, you prevent him from using the time productively by scheduling another patient or doing other work. Although many doctors do make "reminder" calls to patients to prevent this, it's still your responsibility to keep appointments once they're made.
