Legal Question in Business Law in Maryland
Protecting
I was advised to consult with owners of businesses that are similar to the one I am currently working to start (online business). While I think this is a great idea, I would like to know if there is anything I should do to protect myself from possible claims that suggest I am copying their ideas since our businesses offer some of the same types of products. Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: Protecting
If the owners of these similar businesses are willing to give you advice that would aid you in starting your own business, they would have no basis for complaining if you incorporated their suggestions in your business plan. Why else would you have contacted them?
