If I purchase a product from a company in bulk can I resell it in smaller quantitys.

As a Franchise Attorney I can tell you the consent of the company you buy in bulk from (assuming they are the authorized source) is required for further distribution rights. When you buy in bulk, you are a buyer, not an authorized distributor. Consult with a good business or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.
