Legal Question in Business Law in Maryland
I signed up for my gym training contract on 10/15/09 and received a copy on 10/23/09 due to a printer error at the time of signing. My contract began 10/15 I had to ask for the copy of the contract on 10/23 and then hand delivered a letter, copy of the contract, and bank statement stating that I wanted to cancel my membership and was entitled to a full refund of all monies paid as it stated in the contract- "You have the right to cancel this contract w/in 3 business days after receipt of a copy of this agreement. Cancellation must be in writing, and delivered in person or by certified registered mail. If you cancel, you are entitled to a full refund of all monies paid." Can someone please help me!

Was the copy you received dated 10/23? Based on what you have written, it sounds like you canceled pursuant to the contract, but it is odd that you did not get a copy when signed it. Contact the gym and try to work it out because other options may cost you. If you can't, you can consult with an attorney or file in small claims court.
