Legal Question in Business Law in Maryland
small claims
I was going to buy into a staging business, I gave the owner $2500.00, we could not agree on the terms of the contract and had not signed a contract. She told me she would give me my money back and signed an agreement to this. She made 1 payment of $200.00 and now says she will not pay me back. Can I take her to small claims court because she did sign a contract stating she would pay me back?

Re: small claims
Yes, you can do that. Since there was never an agreement as to your purchase, and since she later agreed to refund your money (although you would have been entitled to it anyway unless it was initially tendered as a nonrefundable deposit), you are clearly entitled to a refund.
