tow truck companies
Is it illegal for a tow truck company to search out vehicles to tow, even if my apartment complex has a contract with the towing company? I was under the impression that the tow company had to be called for a particular vehicle to be towed, and my leasing office was not open when the vehicle was towed.

If the tow truck company has a contract with the owner of the property that authorizes them to tow vehicles that appear to be parked there improperly, they can tow the vehicle. Otherwise, people could park there improperly every night without risk of being towed.
