Legal Question in Business Law in Maryland
Towed car
I dropped my car off last week to a repair shop. They parked my car on the main road and over the weekend it got towed. Should I have to pay to get my car out or should the repair shop be responsiable for the fees to get my car out of the pound?

Re: Towed car
Most definitely this should be the responsibility of the repair shop. When you dropped your car off, you entrusted it to them in what is known in the law as a bailment relationship. Their duty was to take care of the car so that no damage was done to it, which includes placing it in a location that it was parked illegally and subject to removal. Clearly they must be aware of the parking restrictions on the roads adjacent to their premises.
