Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Maryland
Private Investigator Question
I am being followed by a private investigator and have seen them on several occasions. If I ask them to stop, can they legally continue to follow me?
Thanks.

Re: Private Investigator Question
They have the "right" to follow you around to point where you feel harassed. Then, you go into court and get an injunction against stalking/harassment. Mere annoyance is probably not enough, especially if you don't know why they're following you and you don't feel in any danger. At least, you can follow them back to their office and/or get a business card and get the information needed for the injunction. That might help you figure out why they're following you, and they'll know their surveillance may not be as effective as their client hoped.
