Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Maryland
Very qualified, still not being hired.
I am extremely well qualified for an employment position (more so than the other applicants). However, without even an interview, I was passed over for the position. May an employer turn down extremely qualified applicants, for any reason besides discrimination?

Re: Very qualified, still not being hired.
An employer can deny employment for any reason or no reason, as long as it does not do so for a prohibited reason (discrimination based on a specified category: race, color, religion, national origin, sex, disability, age over 40).
