Agreement Canceled

I buy a domain in october 2001, and I receive a mail telling me that I have to pay in order to keep management right on it from my registar...

I can give you a copy of the mail.

What can I do?

Domain names have to be renewed - you don't "own" it. Rather, you have a service contract for a number of years (depending on how long you paid for). When that expires, if you don't renew the contract, the service is terminated, and you lose the use of the domain name. Read the service agreement with your registrar.
