Legal Question in Constitutional Law in Maryland
customer's right to see security tapes
I mistakenly left a wallet at the pay counter at a local restaurant and when I realized this and went back, the wallet was gone--There is a security camera pointed right at the area and I asked to see the tape to see what happened to the wallet, but the management denied this request. I want to know if I have any rights to see the tapes. It seemed very sneaky, like they were hiding something.
Thanks

Probably not, but if you file a complaint with the police about your wallet being lost and potentially stolen, you might be able to get the police to pressure them to let you see the tape.
