Are ther any jurisdictions which a felon can practice law?

Here in California, there is no law that says felons can't practice law. But every applicant must satisfy the Bar that he or she has good character, and a felony will count *very* heavily against the applicant. Some felons have persuaded the Bar of their character and been admitted, but only after a long and drawn-out process.
The standards are similar for Bar members who are disbarred due to felony convictions. They can seek readmission, and sometimes they get it. First, though, they must demonstrate good character.
I believe the rules are similar in many other states.
