Legal Question in Consumer Law in Maryland

auto body repair

I was in an accident at the end of April and my husband picked me up and we were on our way to a rental car place when we spotted an auto body shop. We pulled in and my husband got out and asked if we could have our car towed there and for the number of a tow company. The shop asked for his signature to start repair and my husband said no I'm not signing a release. Now it's June and the car company completed the work the whole time we were saying we don't want the work done. I told them they could have the title but I didn't want to pay them, I never gave them permission to do the work!!! The cost is around $10,500 and my car is not worth that! Without my or my husbands signature to begin work do we have a legal responsibility to pay them????

Re: auto body repair

Was it your intent to enter into a contract for repair? Based on the facts you have given, it sounds like you only wanted storage services.
