Legal Question in Consumer Law in Maryland
New Automobile contract
I purchased a new car on 4/6/07 thinking that I was buying the car outright. However, after discussing the contract with family members I believe that I entered into a lease agreement. Can I return the car and opt out of the contract? Somewhere I heard that I have 72 hours, but Honda of Bowie in Maryland said that I cannot return the car. They indicated that I purchased the car and cannot return it. What can I do?

Re: New Automobile contract
A lease agreement is a type of contract. I'm afraid, nevertheless, that Honda's probably got it right, unless, somehow you could prove that there was a mutual mistake as to the true nature of the transaction(outright purchase v. lease)and, consequently, no necessary meeting of the minds between seller and buyer, and proverbially characterizes all valid contracts, and, therefore, the remedy of recission of the agreement would be warranted in your favor.
This would not be easy.
