Legal Question in Consumer Law in Maryland

Dry Cleaners Ruined Shirts

Trying a new place to get shirts laundered. Picked up the shirts only to discover later that the cleaners had written in permanent marker our last name on the bottom inside of each shirt. One shirt in particular is totally ruined as they wrote on the white material and it bled through to the outside. Husband wears most of these shirts untucked, therefore name shows. When asked who gave them permission to write on shirts were told that they do this for all items to be cleaned. There was no sign in the store stating that they wrote in permanent marker the names of the customers on items being cleaned.

Re: Dry Cleaners Ruined Shirts

Time for new shirts at the cleaner's expense. Let him have the shirts he wrote on and destroyed. I certainly don't want shirts with my name written on them in magic marker. Hasn't this cleaner heard of affixing tags and item control?? How many shirts were destroyed? (410) 799-9002
