Legal Question in Consumer Law in Maryland
My electric company routinely trims trees that are close to the powerlines.I had several trees lining my property that were to b trimmed.however, when I came back outside they had cut the trees completely down without my permission.I filed a complaint they offered to give me new trees however they will not plant them where they were.I feel the landscape of my property is forever changed.what is fair compensation for this malicious act?

You are entitled to new trees, as they've offered. What else would you get, pain and suffering damages? And I fail to see how this act was malicious -- do you think they did it intentionally to hurt you or upset you?
Many times the electric company will work with you -- for instance, if you want a particular type of tree, they may accommodate you. However, they are not going to plant the trees in a place where they will continue to have to trim them, or ultimately cut them down, b/c of the power lines.
Best of luck. ******The above is for informational purposes only and does not create an attorney-client privilege.*******
