Legal Question in Consumer Law in Maryland
Faulty Maryland Inspection by Mr. Tire
I recently purchased a 2000 BMW, I had to have it inspected so I took the car to Mr. Tire, the ''mechanic'' found that the car needed new rear rotors and were quick to give me an estimate in the vicinity of $600.00 dollars, then I communicated to them that the car was under warranty and was going to take it to the dealer. After waiting two weeks for the appointment with BMW, I found out that the car didn't need repairs, Mr. Tire said they had used an old estimate for the minimum thickness allowed in the rotors, needles to say I had to go back and forth between the dealer and Mr. Tire and that caused a lot of aggravation. Also, I found from the dealer that the BMW has the minimum thickness allowed written right in the rotor, which makes me wonder about Mr. Tire's ability to perform such an inspection. I have documentation of all of this; I am thinking of taking them to court. What are my chances?. One might think that Mr. Tire might do this as a practice to get business, I found them highly unqualified for this state law demanding type of work.

Re: Faulty Maryland Inspection by Mr. Tire
It is not clear what cause of action you have, since it sounds like Mr. Tire never did any work for you. A complaint to the Attorney General may be another option.
