Legal Question in Consumer Law in Maryland
Fauly Equipment
I purchased a water filtering system which has not worked in the past 2 years for that matter it caused me over a $800 water bill. It had some type of problem. I called and asked them to repair the repairman did not bring the proper part to fix and never returned. In which case i still had to pay a fee. I called several times after this to no avail. I want to know is there anyway I can get the equipment removed from my home as well as get some type of reimbursement as the unit caused $5,000.

Re: Fauly Equipment
I have no idea what type of equipment you are referring to; however, I will state that it is my experience that most water filtration systems result in higher water bills. This is because of the exchange rate with the purification system (that is, it takes alot of bad water to make a lesser amount of good water and the amount of lost bad water depends upon the degree of desired purity). If you had a system installed and are paying high water bills and have requested that the system be disabled, then this is another matter. Your installation contract should identify your rights. If you believe that you are not being treated fairly are unable to acquire a reasonable result, contact an attorney for assistance.
