Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Maryland

Car Reposession

I had a car repo'd in 2002 when I moved to NC, that I bought in maryland. I have been back in MD for a little over a year now and I get a summons for court and the contract is over 10,000.00. I had not heard anything from them since the took the car there are letters that they sent my old apartment but I had my mail forwarded and nothing came to my new address. If I have thousands of dollars that I am already in default for, for back taxes and student loans where will my paying them back come in? I guess it is too late for bankruptcy ?

Re: Car Reposession

It is too late for bankruptcy to get the car back, but not to discharge the debt. The student loans will almost certainly not be dischargeable in bankruptcy. The taxes may be, depending on the years and filing dates. I would be pleased to go over your bankruptcy options with you.
