Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Maryland

Credit Bureaus Refusal To Re-Investigate Negative Items

My main question of concern is how to find a knowledgeable attorney who is both willing and capable of going after the credit bureaus when they refuse to acknowledge a consumer's request to re-investigate negative items on their credit report. What legal means does a consumer really have?..Thanks..

Re: Credit Bureaus Refusal To Re-Investigate Negative Items

Credit bureaus are required to re-investigate, but that does not mean they are required to change the information after the investigation, which is often very cursory. The Fair Credit Reporting Act regulates the conduct of both creditors and the credit bureaus. The FCRA provides for damages and attorneys fees for violations.
