Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Maryland

Hi, discover card is moving a legal action against me. I own them 5.000 dollars. I don't have any money to pay it. How long will it take them to take me to court? Is it a fast or slow process?

It depends. Once suit is filed, trial is generally within 90 days. If you don't file a Notice of Intention to Defend, a default judgment will be entered against you. Note that inability to pay is not a defense to a collection lawsuit.

You may want to consider filing for bankruptcy.
