Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Maryland
My husband's car was repossessed and the lender still wants him to pay what he owed. Is that legal when he no longer has the vehicle?

The lender has a duty to sell the vehicle to limit the outstanding amount owed. However, your husband is responsible for any deficiency that exists after the sale. The deficiency is dischargeable in a bankruptcy.
