Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Maryland

Is this legal

I have reviewed me and my husbands credit report, and I notice that and company called ''Name Search'', ''Name Seeker Inc'' was listed as parties who reviewed my credit. When I tried to locate this company to get an accurate telephone number nothing is coming up. I'am very concerned about is the credit bureaus allowing just anyone to look at a person credit report without their knowledge. Also how can I find out if someone in particular requested this information (for example, my husbands ex-wife who we have been having a problem with for the last few years). How do I stop this from happening. It's too much credit, and ID theft out there for the credit bureaus just to give this information out.

Contact the credit reporting agency which issued the report and they will give you the contact information of the entities that reviewed your credit report. Then contact the entity and ask them why they accessed your credit report. The FCRA prohiibts unauthorized access to your credit report, but you may have applied for credit or financing and have forgotten when and to who.
