Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Maryland

Money Lent

In July 2002, I lent a friend $1500.00 as a security deposit for a new home she had rented. She agrred to pay me back in one month; which turned into 2 months, then 3 months. Now she has refused to return my calls or to answer my e-mail's, regarding setting up some kind of pay back schedule. Do I have any options that are worth undertaking at this point. Thanks, Mary

Re: Money Lent

Yes, file your suit in small claims court or its

equivalent. The judgment that you receive can then be recorded as a lien against the property, and then ,perhaps, enforced through a sale of the property unless the property is held by the owner and judgment debtor, jointly, by the entireties, with her spouse.
