Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Maryland

Phone Harrassment

A collections agent has given private financial information to my employer. The same agent verbally threatened me on

the phone a few days later. She said, ''You'd better have

$1908.00 in my checking account or else!'' Or else what??

I have repeatedly been called by this company at work.

What legal rights do I have??

Re: Phone Harrassment

They can not call you at work if your employer does not allow it. Tell them in writing not to contact you about the debt any more, and they must stop. "Or else" is vague enough to perhaps be allowed, but they can not threaten physical harm or prosecution.
