Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Maryland

i have been someins to go to court.

long story short, i had an account with bestbuy they did a charge off

and sold the accout to a collections company that i never done business with.

can this company sue me for the money i owed bestbuy??

Collection companies can buy accounts from creditors. At that point, if it is a legitimate debt, they can sue you on the note.
