Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Maryland

Is there a statue of limitations on judgements can I stop garnishments

I had a judgement in 93/94 that was not enforced until

2000 my husbands wages are now being garnished for a car I bought after losing a high salary job i asked for re financing and they wouldn't so I missed payments eventually the car was repossed they are now garnishing my husbands wages they would not and will not accept any offer of re payment we requested We can not afford the garnishments we are a one income family and can they still place interest and court cost on these payments since they are being taken out of his check they are being made I thought they were not suppose to add interest if payments are being made

A judgment in MD is enforecable for well over that length of time (12 or 20 years - I'd have to look it up). The only ways to stop the garnishment would be to work out a settlement, pay off the judgment, or file bankruptcy.
