Uninsured Patient's Hospital Bill
I was in the hospital and the State of Maryland paid most of the bill, however, I still owed around $2100. I can afford to pay $25 a month and have been doing so. The debt is down to $1900 but now the hospital is demanding immediate payment in full. Is there a Maryland law that says as long as I continue to pay them a minimum amount they can not take action against me.

No, unfortunately there is no such law . . . if they are not happy with the amount of the payments, they can sue you and try to get more. Unless . . . you say the State of Maryland paid most of it . . . was it medicare? If medicare was involved and the health care provider agreed to accept whatever they were paid I do not believe they can attempt to collect it from you. You may wish to consult with an attorney who knows medicare law. But from a straight collection standpoint, they are not bound to accept whatever payments you send.
