Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Maryland

Vehicle Repossession

What exactly is the process leading up to repossession? I am 2 full months behind on my payments with the third one due, I have been trying to find help with getting current with the payments, but I feel repossion is very likely in the picture.I have talked with the lender, explaining my situation, I`m unemployed and my benefits ran out.If the vehicle is in another state other than the one it was purchased in what are the options available to the finance company and me?

Re: Vehicle Repossession

Some states require a court order to repossess, most however, permit self help repossession (lender can repossess without court order). In those instances the lender usually hires a company to literally steal the vehicle (usually without announcement).
