Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland

2nd degree assault

My girlfriend amd I had a ''Verbal'' argument, broke up, and then she left the house. Later the police arrived and charged em with second degree assault saying that she told them I choked her, kicked her, and pushed her. They said she had red marks on her neck. The problem is that I DID NOT touch her. I told the officers this but I was still arrested. What can I do? I am definately not guilty but how do I defend myself against her word versus mine? I don't even knwo what the marks supposedly look like but I know I did not touch her. What are my options. It's sad that she si doign this to me just because we broke up. I don't want my life and career to be ruined just because she scratched herself of grabbed her neck to look like I touched her(if thats what happened). The police said there was no other signs of injury on her or me. I need help, please.

Re: 2nd degree assault

The best help you can give yourself is get a criminal lawyer, like myself. He will assist you in properly defending your assault case. Don't do what a lot of people do, believe you can represent yourself successfuly because you are innocent. The jail is full of innocent people.
