Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland
When I was 13 I was a victim of sex abuse, it was brought to court and the man was found guilty and convicted. Since his release from prison he falsely registered once, and nothing was done about it. His probation ended a few months ago, and I got an email stating he moved from Maryland to West Virginia. This means he is being taken off the Maryland registry, which I am not happy about. Now we have found out he is not on Maryland or West Virginia's registry. I've been told if they have to open an investigation on him falsely registering I will not be contacted. I feel as a victim I have more rights than I am being told. If he falsely registered, I do not want him to walk again, what are my legal rights?

I would STRONGLY recommend that you consult with a Maryland family law attorney who is familiar with interstate registry and victims rights laws.
Best of luck.
