Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland

ACS effect on my future job prospects

I am going to court soon for a first offense small theft charge with a clean record. I've been told that ACS (alternative community service) will most likely be the result of our case. My question is in regards to my record. If that happens, will I maintain this record which would hurt my job prospects incredibly. Can I have it expunged or is getting ACS equivalent to pleading guilty? I am only worried about my future job prospects and paying a fine is not a concern.

Re: ACS effect on my future job prospects

ACS will likely result in the charges being dropped. If not immediately, within a year. Then you can have your record expunged immediately if you waive any lawsuit against the complainant.
