Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland
no bail
my brother's ex got a warrant issued for stalking,harass,reckless endangerment and he is hwob in balto city jail. does he get a prelim hearing? no lawyers will c/b...does md have pretrial diversion? he needs help for addiction and i think he needs some mental help... can something be done that he would agree to do instead of jail and if he doesnt do it, then the state prosecutes? the ex is willing to drop charges if he agrees to certain terms...what do you think?

You brother will fair much better with a lawyer. If he cannot afford a lawyer, he should get a public defender. The State's attorney will normally only make deals with lawyers.
