Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland
bench warrant
My son is in pre-trial. he showed up to see his counselor at 1:00pm instead of being there when it opened. The counselor was angry and said he was going to put a bench warrant out on him. Since he showed like he was supposed to, does the pre-trial guy have grounds to get the warrant?

Re: bench warrant
Any minor violation of a pretrial condition can be a basis for violating his pretrial release and thus probably enough for a warrant on a violation petition, but in this situation, if the 1:00 show-up is the only issue, a judge will probably ultimately not revoke his bond.
