Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland

well i have 2 misdermenars on my record but now i have to go to court on jan. 16,2009 and thats for $500 plus value and forgery of check i jus want to know do i have to get jail time or is there away getting around doing time behide bars. thank you

That would depend on a number of factors including what the misdemeanors were and how long ago they occurred, whether restitution has been made for the current charges, etc. There is also the question of whether to stand trial or negotiate a plea with the State's Attorney. I would strongly suggest speaking with an experienced criminal attorney about your case.
