Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland
espongement of criminal record
In July of 2000, I was arrested for felony theft. I entered into a plea bargin before judgement. I served six weekends in a county correctional facility and successfully completed my probation. I have not or intend to be involve in any type of criminal activity since.
Recently, I have had the opportunity to obtain well paying jobs, which I so desparately need at this point in my life, but when it is time to do the backgroud checks this criminal record always disqualify me from employment of a well paying job.
My question is how can I clean or get this charge off my record?

You can file a Petition for Expungement in the court where the case was filed. Forms are available at the courthouse or online at the Maryland courts website.

If you were granted probation before judgment, you can file a petition for expungement with the Court. My firm would be glad to help you with this, call anytime.
