Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland
Exceeding due time
A friend of mine who is currently in a federal prison states the following:
''I had a detainer for Howard County (it was a Violation of Probation an I went to court for that on Aug 25 2003 an they gave me 5 years running with this time) an they sent the letter saying the detainer was satisfied on Aug 24 2008, but these people still havent taken it off''.
According to him, now the prison system is stating that he will not be released until July of 2009 because of this same detainer, rather than the end of this year as originally intended. What does he need to do to ensure that he is release when he is supposed to be instead of months later?

Please post your question for MD. You posted it for SC. All states have different laws and you would be better off asking an attorney in MD.
