Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland

5 yrs ago, I was charged with a felony for burglary. Since then I have had no prior convictions not even a trafffic ticket. I am trying to persue a career in criminal justice and currently going for my assciotes so that one day I can give back to my community. I am finding this very challenging because of my felony. Nobody will hire me anywhere and its been 5 years. I was taught in school that it may be possible for me to file a petition, since no statement was ever taken from me and I didnt undertand my options the day I pled guity to the felony instead of the misdameanors. If you could please assist me with information or any numbers to whom anyone will be able to help me.

If your felony conviction occurred in Virginia, I regret to report that it will very likely be virtually impossible to have it expunged.
