Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland
Illegal search of vehicle
My question is, if you were arrested by the Maryland State Police, does he at that time have to show you a warrant for arrest or can he wait until he has taken you into custody and back at the police station? Also, can another officer search the glove box in my vehicle without my permission or without showing me a search warrant at any time during the arrest and processing? Any help to these answers is much appreciated.

Re: Illegal search of vehicle
The officer in not required to show you the warrant of arrest. The officer is permitted to search the area around where you are arrested, including the glove box of your car, if you were arrested near or in your car. You should contact a lawyer, for representation for all arrests, and if any evidence was taken out of your glove box.
