Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland

Impeaching a witness

I have been charged with first and second degree asault along with false imprisonment of an ex-girlfriend. It stems from her coming to my home (while other people were there but in another area of the home) after I learned that her and a girlfriend had both went out of town and slept with a professional ball player for money. He paid them with a check. Additionally I have a variety of witnesses to the same. A week later they went to a court commissioner's office and filed charges on me after learning that I just recieved absolute confirmation that they had done this and was going to expose them for it. They brought these charges out of spite.

My question.....Are they're testimoneies ''impeachable'' because they are and were clearly commiting a crime?

Impeaching a witness

Their testimony might be impeachable, but it will probably take a trained lawyer to do it.
