Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland

Itunes Account Fraud

I hang around the wrong people. Almost 3 months ago I got this guys Canadian Itunes account off a Warez site, logged in, and downloaded about 650-70 dollars worth of music. I know Itunes logs your IP Address. I deeply regret doing it, so I shredded the music and deleted it, since it wouldn't work anyway, as I forgot it was Canadian and and not US. What's the worst that can happen to me?. I've NEVER had any convictions or etc on my record. So, this would be my first time, and last time offence.

Re: Itunes Account Fraud

Well, first of all, the worst that could happen to you is that you go to jail for several years. This would be felony theft in Maryland, and you could potentially be prosecuted in Canada. However, if you have never been in trouble, likely if you paid back the money you could just get probation. You need to keep your mouth shut if and when contacted by any authorities, and contact an attorney immediately upon any inquiry by the police or anyone else.
