If a child is detained by department store security for shoplifting, do they have the right to make them sign papers admitting to the shoplifting or any type of document, without the parents being present?

A parent is not required to be present when security interviews a juvenile for shoplifting. Should the juvenile sign a paper admitting to the theft, even if the parent is not present, it is admissible in Court. NOW is the time to seek an attorney to defend the juvenile in court.
